Smokin Caravan Blend is a blend Chinese Black Tea, Oolong Tea, Lapsang Souchong Tea.
It is a beautiful smokey tea
The name comes from the Camel Caravans back in the 18th century, that transported tea across Asia, on the back of Camels, from the tea producing areas of India, Ceylon and China to Europe going through Russia, it would take 6 months and they would cross 9700km.
The smokey taste came from the camp fires that were made from dried Camel dung each time they stopped to rest and prepare food. The smoke over such a long time would give the tea the unique smokey notes.
Today no Camel dung is used and the smoky tastes comes from the Lapsang Souchong as the leaves are traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires, creating a strong smokey flavour.
Place 1 teaspoon of tea (2g) into a cup – steep at 100 °C for 2 minutes
Sit and relax you deserve a Tea break.
